Kollektiv Turmstrasse is a german duo project established by Christian Hilscher and Nico Plagemann, guys who met by accident in 1999 while being roommates . After a few years of hard work they released their first EP for netlabel No Response, for which they recorded their first studio album, "Verrückte Welt".
What we're dealing here with is a pure dynamite. Relaxing and chilling on one side, but from the other really powerfull and restless. The sample selection can be described but no other words than perfect, every sound works well, there's nothing disturbing while this beautiful 7 minute journey...
I don't know if that was the purpose, but this track really resembles whale songs. Don't believe? Just close your eyes, listen to it and you can almost smell the ocean and see two whales while their the mating dance. Maybe they are playing with each other, maybe copulating, maybe there a whaler's ship somewhere out there and they are running away....
Thats the whole beauty of this track - it's calm yet restless at the same time and there is no one way of interpreting it. It floats miles away from the original, but it floats in the proper good way.
